of problem:
The only and thus most important source for billing data are the Call Detail Records (also known as xDRs). These xDRs contain all relevant information required by the billing system. Studies prove that on average 2-8% of all xDRs are incorrect and can consequently not be processed by the billing system.
There are various reasons for incorrectly produced xDRs. Due to
the complexity, the combination of different manufacturers, as well
as due to other dynamic processes, it is unattainable to implement
a 100% loss-free billing chain.

xDR data optimization solution (daos)
belerofon's data optimization solution (daos) is the only software
solution available on the market that enables the operator to
reduce the financial losses caused by incorrect xDRs over the
entire billing chain. For that reason daos is a Revenue Recovery
Solution, and not an Revenue Assurance System! This ability is
based on the fact that daos supports current as well as any future
xDR formats. It imports xDRs into a high performance data base
and processes them. With this exclusive feature common to all
of belerofonīs products, service providers can quickly and easily
correct any type of service without any restriction (service types

Correction steps with Data Optimization Solution:
Only four simple steps are needed to correct any number of xDRs:
|
1. Import of data:
xDRs are decoded from the human unreadable binary and are transferred into the readable ASCII format by the additional belerofon product forea. Thereafter they are loaded and stored in a data base by means of a highly advanced logical system. This software decodes and stores millions of xDRs per minute.

2. Analyzation and selection:
The flexible user interface enables users to analyze loaded xDR files of any format in order to separate correct from incorrect xDRs.

3.
Correction:
The correction of the xDRs, just like the analysis, is executed by SQL and PL/SQL commands. This guarantees maximum flexibility and ensures that mostly any error which might occur within the xDRs can be corrected. The xDRs can be audited immediately after a correction run to check their operability.

4.
Export:
At the end of this process the corrected xDRs are exported from daos and are converted into their original binary format by fomar.
No changes are carried out to the rest of the data, i.e. that they remain in daos without being altered. Thereafter, the data can be returned into the billing chain using a variety of different export commands.
